So let’s face it, life without that morning Cup of Joe just doesn’t cut it for those of us that need that coffee jolt to jump start our day. I was determined to find the best way to brew while on the road.
With that in mind I did what we all do and started with google. After some reading and researching I decided to try two different methods; a stainless steel french press and the AeroPress.
First let’s talk about the French Press. Having used a glass one at home I wanted one that was more resilient and would hold the heat better. So after looking at the reviews I chose the Coffee Gator French Press. This item boasted that it would keep coffee (or tea) hot for 60 minutes longer than a glass carafe. While I didn’t time how the long the heat lasted it was longer than a glass carafe but less than 60 minutes. Regardless, if you are looking to make coffee for a group then this a great option. You never have to worry about it breaking or cracking. Click the link below to explore more about the french press.
That being said I have to say that hands-down I preferred the flavor and ease of the AeroPress. The idea for the AeroPress was developed to provide a light, compact, and easy way to create a great cup of coffee while backpacking. Adapting it to camping, especially with a tear-drop camper, was just a natural progression. For the best results I recommend checking out a couple of videos on how to use it, but don’t be intimidated! Yes its not the usual way to make a cup of coffee but I guarantee it will be worth it!
So, there you have it! I have started using the AeroPress exclusively both camping and at home. Until next time enjoy your next adventure and keep following your arrow!
