About Me

I’m a 40-something with 2 great kids that splits her time between New England and Virginia. I’m in Virginia about 2/3rds of my time and New England the remaining 1/3.  WHY do you ask, because yes unfortunately it is NOT my choice! I have a wonder job with an office in Massachusetts and my children are in Virginia. So…needless to say I perform a delicate balance of work and life.  Fortunately, that has left me with an opportunity to explore places I wouldn’t normally get to in many different ways.  I’ve camped in cabins, tents, and yes the back of my Toyota Highlander – hey don’t knock it, its surprisingly comfortable! I’ve booked hotels, used AirBNB, driven the 550+ one way and flown upon occasion.  All in a attempt to get me where I’ve needed to go, and have fun doing it. Did I mention trying to do it for as little $$ as possible? Along the way I’ve met some great people, seen some great places and developed a passion for travelling.  On top of that I try to give my 2 teens some experiences outside their hometown, and even find myself travelling as far afield as to the Aleutian Islands! So please join me as I explore hidden gems, meet new people, and feed my restless travelling bug!
