Welcome to the “Garbage Plate” capital of the world! Yes, my friends, I’m in Rochester, NY. How did I find myself here? Well, for 2 reasons: first, Rochester is about as close to home as it gets for me, and second, for my son to visit a college.

So, many thanks to my nephew who spent his evening showing us around the campus at RIT! The Rochester Institute of Technology has a great reputation and seeing it from the perspective of a recent graduate certainly demonstrates the benefits to prospective students!

Through our 2.5 hour and 4 mile tour of campus we traveled all over the campus including academic buildings, library, field house, recreation facilities, you name it we saw it. We had a great time and were suitably impressed.

With tunnels between the buildings and enough food options for any picker eater RIT is a great prospect for college going students.

Moving on to dinner, we missed all on campus options and headed to Henrietta Hots https://m.facebook.com/henriettahots/! And this my friends is where the garbage plate comes into play. If you have not experienced the garbage plate it tastes a LOT better than it sounds. A mish mash of macaroni salad, home fries, 2 cheeseburger patties, and Rochester bbq sauce on top. This is just one variation and you can find almost any combination that might tickle your taste buds.

I figure one garbage plate every 20 years will hold me! Back when yours truly was in college they were a ritual.

To top out the night, we were able to meet up with my roommate from college! So great to see her and family, it was like no time had passed. The star of the night was this gorgeous girl. Thank you Delilah for a wonderful night!

Until time…keep following YOUR arrow!
